If you're looking for a Bitcoin ATM in Yuen Long, you have more choice than most of the New Territories. As of 6 October 2026, the published machine lists of COINHERO, CoinUnit, Localcoin and One Satoshi put 11 crypto ATMs in Yuen Long town and Tin Shui Wai, second only to Tsuen Wan among NT towns. One of them buys crypto back for cash, and there's one staffed counter we could verify on the operator's own site. A word on method: these counts come from operator lists, not site visits. A machine being listed doesn't guarantee it's working today.
Yuen Long's machines have a clear pattern. Nearly all of them sit inside 24-hour self-service laundromats in the ground-floor shops of older buildings along the town's main roads, not in big malls. Tin Shui Wai is the exception: both its machines are in one shopping centre. Below is every listed machine, followed by what you need to know about selling, the shop, fees, and the anti-money-laundering issues that matter more in a border town.
All 11 Bitcoin ATMs in Yuen Long and Tin Shui Wai
COINHERO runs four machines, CoinUnit five, and Localcoin and One Satoshi one each. CoinUnit doesn't flag any Hong Kong machine as two-way: to sell, you submit a request through its website rather than at the machine.
Localcoin's own kiosk data actually holds a second Yuen Long machine: 365 Laundry Yuen Long, Shop 12C, Lok Fu Building, 2-16 Fuk Tin Path, open 24 hours. The operator's directions are to leave Yuen Long station by Exit C and walk about 10 minutes via Long Lok Road and On Ling Road. Our district tally filed it under a different area, so it isn't in the 11 above. The true listed figure for Yuen Long may be 12.
Tin Shui Wai's Kingswood Richly Plaza is one of the few places in Hong Kong where two operators have machines in the same mall: COINHERO on the ground floor at A91-15A and One Satoshi at C111C by the escalator. If you live in Tin Shui Wai, that saves the trip into Yuen Long town. A long-unmaintained "HK Bitcoin ATM" website (its footer still says 2018) lists a machine at New City, 37–51 Yau Sun Street, and a third-party directory puts a Nitroswap machine at the same address. We couldn't confirm either, so neither is counted.
Pau Cheung Square: the only place in Yuen Long to sell
Of roughly 202 listed machines across Hong Kong, only eight buy crypto back for cash, and all eight are COINHERO's. Yuen Long's is inside 365 Laundry at Shop D1, 14–28 Pau Cheung Square, open around the clock. That matters for the north-west: the next nearest sell machine is in Tuen Mun at Man Bo Building on Tsing Hoi Circuit, and after that you're heading to Mong Kok or Tsim Sha Tsui.
Selling costs 13% plus HK$25, or 6.5% if you register as a member. Sell HK$5,000 worth of Bitcoin unregistered and about HK$675 goes in fees, leaving you roughly HK$4,325 in notes. That's far more expensive than selling on a licensed platform and withdrawing to your bank, so it only makes sense for smaller amounts when you genuinely need cash on the spot. We compare every route in our cash-out guide, and the operator itself in our COINHERO review.

The Yuen Long crypto shop, and why USDT is off the menu
People search for "USDT shop Yuen Long" (and its Chinese version) often enough to show up in Google's suggestions. But we could verify just one walk-in counter: One Satoshi, Shop 2072, 2/F, In-Citi, 17 Kau Yuk Road. Older guides call the building Kar Shing Plaza at 15–19 Kau Yuk Road; the operator now gives the In-Citi address.
The shop deals in cash only and lists Bitcoin and Ether. On USDT, the legal background matters. The Stablecoins Ordinance (Cap. 656) took effect on 1 August 2025: only stablecoins from HKMA-licensed issuers may be offered to the public, and only by permitted offerors. Answering a LegCo question on 10 September 2025, the government said plainly that OTC shops are not permitted offerors and cannot offer stablecoins like USDT. So we won't label any shop here a "Yuen Long USDT shop". If USDT is what you need, our USDT guide covers the routes that remain legal, and the stablecoin rules page explains the law itself.
Fees, notes and ID
None of the three ATM networks is cheap. COINHERO charges 13% plus HK$100 to buy (6.5% for registered members), with a HK$500 minimum, and the first note you insert must be HK$1,000 or HK$500. CoinUnit doesn't publish its fee at all; it appears only on the machine's screen. Its machines take HK$500 and HK$1,000 notes only and sell Bitcoin, Ether, DOGE, Litecoin and TRX. Localcoin's FAQ says fees "typically" run 5% to 8%, yet the price data behind every one of its kiosks shows 13.5% plus HK$23 for Bitcoin. We go with the higher figure.
| Operator | Buy fee | Sell? | ID check |
|---|---|---|---|
| COINHERO (4) | 13% + HK$100; members 6.5% | Yes, at Pau Cheung Sq | Above HK$100,000 per trade |
| CoinUnit (5) | Shown on screen only | Online request | Not published |
| Localcoin (1) | 13.5% + HK$23 (kiosk data) | No | Phone and ID flow exists |
| One Satoshi shop | Quoted in store | Yes (shop) | Above HK$120,000 |
Source: operator websites, checked 6 October 2026. The fee shown on screen or quoted in store at the time of the trade is what counts.
Put that in real terms. A Tin Shui Wai nurse who feeds HK$3,000 in cash into a COINHERO machine pays HK$390 plus HK$100, about HK$490, or roughly a sixth of the money. The same purchase on a licensed platform funded by FPS usually costs a few dollars to a few tens of dollars in published fees. You pay heavily for the convenience of no account and instant settlement.
Border-town risks: don't become someone else's middleman
Yuen Long sits close to the Lok Ma Chau and Shenzhen Bay crossings and sees heavy cross-boundary traffic. That makes it more likely than a city-centre district that cash crypto deals here involve requests like "buy it for me" or "let me use your wallet". Police figures for 2025 counted 5,135 online investment fraud cases with HK$3.58 billion lost, and about a third of that involved virtual assets. In many of those cases the money eventually has to be turned into crypto by someone with cash.
Buying at a Yuen Long ATM is fine. The trouble usually starts with “buy some for a friend” or “receive a payment to your wallet for me”.
If someone hands you cash to buy coins and send them on, or asks to borrow your wallet address, you could end up laundering money without realising it. Use your own money and send coins to your own wallet. If you're unsure about a request, call the 18222 Anti-Scam Helpline or check the wallet address or phone number on Scameter first.
For the same reason, this page won't explain how to split trades, avoid ID checks or move money across the border. Mainland China has its own rules on crypto and on carrying cash. On the Hong Kong side, carrying more than HK$120,000 in currency in or out must be declared to Customs. Our pages on whether crypto is legal and on scams and licence checks go into the detail.
Nearby alternatives: Tuen Mun, Tsuen Wan or online
If a Yuen Long machine is out of order or you want options, the nearest alternatives lie along the Tuen Ma line. Tuen Mun has eight listed ATMs, including the 24-hour sell machine at Man Bo Building, but no verified shop. Tsuen Wan is the New Territories' biggest cluster, with 17 listed machines and two staffed counters (Crypto HK and PP Crypto Exchange), but no sell machine. Up north, Sheung Shui has another 24-hour sell kiosk and a second One Satoshi branch.
For most Yuen Long residents, though, the most practical choice isn't a machine at all. Open an account with an SFC-licensed platform such as HashKey Exchange or OSL, fund it with HKD by FPS, and you'll pay a fraction of ATM fees with Hong Kong regulatory protection if something goes wrong; all 13 are on our list of SFC-licensed platforms. If you already bank with ZA Bank or Mox, or trade through Futu, you can buy inside those apps (see bank and broker apps). And if you only want Bitcoin price exposure, a spot Bitcoin ETF on HKEX works from an ordinary brokerage account.
Every machine in Hong Kong, including the eight that buy back, is on our Bitcoin ATM map, and you can compare other districts on the areas map. We re-check operator lists monthly. If you find a machine has gone or an address is wrong, please let us know.
Frequently asked questions
Where is there a Bitcoin ATM in Yuen Long?
Operator lists checked on 6 October 2026 show 11 crypto ATMs across Yuen Long and Tin Shui Wai: nine in and around Yuen Long town and two inside Kingswood Richly Plaza in Tin Shui Wai. Almost all sit in 24-hour laundromats. Every address is listed on this page; the citywide picture is on our Bitcoin ATM map.
Can I sell crypto for cash at an ATM in Yuen Long?
Yes, at one machine. COINHERO Yuen Long #3, inside 365 Laundry at Shop D1, 14–28 Pau Cheung Square, is flagged by the operator as buy-and-sell and is open 24 hours. Selling costs 13% plus HK$25 (6.5% for registered members). It is the only operator-confirmed sell machine in the north-west New Territories.
Is there a USDT shop in Yuen Long?
The only staffed shop we could verify is One Satoshi at Shop 2072, 2/F In-Citi, 17 Kau Yuk Road, which lists Bitcoin and Ether. Since the Stablecoins Ordinance took effect on 1 August 2025, the government has said OTC shops are not permitted to offer stablecoins such as USDT to the public, so don't expect one. See how to buy USDT legally.
Do I need ID to use a Bitcoin ATM in Yuen Long?
Not for small amounts. COINHERO lets you buy up to HK$100,000 per transaction without registering; above that it asks for a phone number, HKID or passport, a selfie and a fingerprint. One Satoshi's shops ask for ID above HK$120,000. Splitting a purchase to stay under those limits is exactly what AML rules are designed to catch, so don't.
What are the opening hours of the Tin Shui Wai machines?
Both machines in Kingswood Richly Plaza, COINHERO's Laundromat.SHA (Shop A91-15A, G/F) and One Satoshi's ATM (Shop C111C, by the escalator), are listed as 24-hour. Mall access late at night can differ from what an operator lists, so check before making a special trip.
